Army ROTC rank structure?
I’m currently an MSI in an Army ROTC program. I’ve noticed that all the MSIVs are the cadet officers within the batallion and the MSIIIs are the Cadet NCOs within the batallion. But for the MSIs and MSIIs I’m somewhat confused on the rank structure. Can both MSIs and MSIIs be private, pfc, or corporal? Or just the MSIIs? While the MSIs are just E-1 (rank of nothing)?
4’s are officer
3’s are senior nco’s
2’s are junior nco
1’s are privates
Question on US army artillery units at Anzio WWII?
My dads cousin served in the 59th Armored Field Artillery Battalion during WWII. At Anzio they were attached to the 6th corps. Does anyone know what armies, corps, and divisions they were attached to after Anzio to the end of the war?
You may be able to contact the 59th Armored Field Arty Bn Association at:

What is the difference between a batallion and a platoon?
What is the difference between a batallion, a battery and a platoon?
The number of troops in each.
A platoon is very small, about a dozen.
Battalions are made up of many platoons.
Child support referred for legal action?
I have a child with a US soldier, who is not in her life (we are in the same state still), I filed for child support in July. My case worker has sent numerous letters for him to contact them. He hasn’t. He hasn’t filled out any paperwork that has been sent to him. I finally called his batallion and they in turn, made him call.
I was told we would both be sent a finance packet to fill out and send back in. I did and today I received a letter that from SRS that said:
"This is to advise you that your Child Support case has been referred for legal action."
I’m not quite sure why this happened or what it means. And being that I can’t call til Monday, I thought I’d ask on here. Is it because he is still not cooperating? Like not filling out the necassary paperwork to get the ball rolling for child support?
If that’s the case, what exactly should I expect now? Court? Should I call his 1st Sgt. again? Thanks in advance for your answers!
The "Service" intends for their soliders to do what is right .. including paying child support.
If you contact anyone .. do not contact his 1st Sergeant … contact a general office .. a higher position .. who can give you legal facts .. and guidelines .. for this type of situation.
The legal notification could represent several things. It may be legal filings to get the child support started .. but don’t worry about it. You have the real proof … the child is his .. and he owes child support.
A DNA test may be called for .. if he is not your husband .. but that is ok, too .. because as the saying goes … "the proof is in the pudding" .. meaning .. the DNA tells the truth.
Who has to load heavy artillery shells in the Army and Airforce?which MOS?
In the Army who gets to move around those heavy artillery shells and load them on to the tanks and planes? Which mos? Is that the only thing they do?
it would be an aviation ordinance MOS.
and just a side note the the guy above me "rememberthecole" who said that the air force doesn’t use artillery.
AC130 Gunships (operated by the Air force)have M102 howitzers in them. so technically the air force does use artillery
Buying a wii game? need help!?
I am getting a wii game in a few hours what is the best game to get. I have mario kart, galaxy, and batallion wars 2 already.
Well it matters when you got your Wii….
Why it matters is a very common matter. Alot of people bought Smash bros. Brawl, but it ain’t workin! Reason why is because your wii was bought to early that it ain’t have the ability to read double layered disks! So if you go your Wii when they first came out you might want to try getting Smash Bros. Brawl, but if it ain’t workin, don’t even bother returning your wii to nintendo just get a different game like The Legendo of Zelda: Twilight Princess. That is what i recommend, getting LoZ: Twilight Princess.
I am in the USMC Delayed Entry Program. I am considering a job in the artillery. What is life like in this job?
I know that every Marine is a Rifleman. How true is this in the artillery? Am I very likely to perform the duties of a rifleman. It’s not a problem, I’m just curious.
How likely am I do participate in infantry tactics. I appreciate the answer, but how likely or how often will I participate on a patrol? Will I ever be called to assault or defend a position? Or any other infantry type activity.
Expect a lot of cross training. Artillery is getting used in Afghanistan, but not so much in Iraq, so you will be likely wheeled riflemen there. You should get a wide variety of experience.
I am looking for info on my fathers WW II military history.?
I tried the NPRC, but his records were destroyed in the St.Louis fire of 1973.I have his Report of Separation, but would like to have more.He was in the 132nd Inf. Regt.Americal Div. 1944-1945 in the Philippines. He was at Ft. Meade Md. I also have a photograph of his Batallion. It was the 6th Batallion Battery D Camp Stewart Ga.dated 1944.He had alot of the guys sign the back of it and write where they were from.I would like to know where I could get more information on him,his unit and what battles they may have been in.I would also like to know where I could find any photos of him or his Batallion. He was from Honesdale Pennsylvania.I tried to look up 132nd Inf Regt Americal Div but had no luck.Thank you for any help you could offer
Try this: www.archives.gov/stlouis/militar
Also, each base has a "historian" and each unit appoints one officer to be the unit historian. Unit histories are done on an annual basis and submitted to the base historian…call and ask where the histories are achived.
How long was Field Artillery School for the 105mm Howitzer in 1946?
I’m looking for the duration and location of training for someone who was trained in the US Army on a 105mm Howitzer Artillery Piece during the spring of 1946.
Would that be the 105 pack howitzer, which model?
Regardless, not many red-legs from 1946 on YA. Best bet would be to check at the Artillery museum at Ft Sill, Oklahoma.
Question Regarding military pay?
Alright well my husband leave tomorrow for BCT in GA.
While he is at, the reception batallion is that still part of the pay week??
And will he get paid in 2 weeks??
Thanks,
Don’t count on getting paid right away. It took them 8 weeks to get my husbands direct deposit set up. Of course the next paycheck was huge because they got us all that back pay. Make sure you have a plan just in case he doesn’t get paid right away. He will start getting paid as soon as he is there, but when he gets paid will just depend on how fast they get his information processed.
