I’m currently an MSI in an Army ROTC program. I’ve noticed that all the MSIVs are the cadet officers within the batallion and the MSIIIs are the Cadet NCOs within the batallion. What is the difference between a batallion, a battery and a platoon? The number of troops in each. A platoon is very small, about a dozen. Battalions are made up of many platoons.
