What is that new artillery shell the Israelis are using?
It looks like some kind of air burst directional thing. It looks like a firecracker when it goes off and leaves smoke trails to the ground.
White Phosphorus its a chemical weapon that America sold to them

Re-enlisting back into the Marines with an Re-3f? Discharge with mood of Depression.?
I was discharged in March of 2009. And while being processed to be discharged. I was told that I can re-enlist after 6 months. It is now October 2009. I cannot re-enlist through my city because unfortunately my 3rd batallion XO in now stationed at my recruiting office! What are the odds! He was the one that finalized my discharge. He says he remembers me and he does not want to put me through. Which I understand and will not argue about. So now he pretty much black listed me through the city and the other recruiting offices around the region. I have to go to another city to try and Re-enlist.
Can I enlist after 6 months? Cause I heard it was 1 or 2 years. I got failure to adapt with a mood of depression. But here’s the story. I got real sick and was on bed rest for a few days and I felt unmotivated to continue. And to this day I regret for making the decision of getting out. I’m trying to get back in. With everyone and there mom’s trying to join it seems impossible for right now. My recruiter was looking through my paperwork saying it should be no problem for me to get back in. It’s just basic stuff. I just need to get waivered. Main question is, can I re-enlist back in the Marines? This is all I have in mind for now. Thanks to all who are inputting there information.
If the Marines don’t take you try the Army; they’re basically the same.

How far can a person hear an artillery shot?
For example what is the greatest distance a person can hear a shot fired from a M110 howitzer canon?
M110 howitzer can fire a shot up to 30Km(18.75 miles), I want to know if it’s possiple to hear a shot such as this one from more then 5 miles (or 8Km0?
i know that snipers have to be about 1km away from the target so that they cant hear the shot. It’s either 1 km or 1 mile, i forget which.

Why do people think entrenchment fortifications could be easily destroyed by artillery?
Almost every people seem to think that trenches and entrenchment fortifications are easy to destroy using artillery. They think you just hit the trenches with one shot and people in it will easily be slaughtered.
But trenches and entrenchment fortifications are designed to protect and if possible immune soldiers from artillery fire!Although soldiers could still get hit by artillery fire and killed or wounded trenches and entrenchment fortification really minimized casualties and prevented all the soldiers in the same spot from getting killed!
Besides in order for artillery to effectively destroy entrenchment fortifications they have submit continious fire that were known to take hours or even days to actually begin making damages to the trenches! And not to mention soldiers could always attempt to repair the entrenchment fortifications to its original state.
And there is still the big problem of having to watch out for enemy artillery or trying to get the artillery in firing range.
So why do people think entrenchment fortifications could be easily destroyed by artillery? Why do they picture trenches as defenses that could be blasted apart by one shot?
They don’t. I find it absurd that you claim people think this. Most likely you are hanging out with morons.
The reason they built trenches was to protect from artillery and other weapons. This is why the First World War was deadlocked for years.
Stop hanging out with morons.
