do marines stand at parade rest when they talk 2 n.c.o.’s?

i was in the infantry 1/5 marines and 1st recon batallion and i dont remember standing at parade rest when i talked to n.c.o.’s but the army is huge on this can anyone help me thank you.

No, the assume a respectful stance. Parade rest is specific and usually used in formation.

  3. Absolutely not. You come to the position of Attention before you speak. The same goes for Sword manual. Even at "rest" you do not speak. You can relax but your left foot stays in place.

  4. As an NCO you have the power to put them at Parade Rest not POA.

    No not parade rest, but a modified version of the parade rest. You still have your arms behind your back and legs seperated like the parade rest but more laxed.
