    Nja… 600 000 hade vi som mest möjlighet “redo”. Det hade räckt oerhört långt om dom använts rätt. Jag debatterar inte huruvida dagens nivå är vad det borde vara. Men används saker rätt så kan dom blir effektiva ändå. Sverige har alltid haft ett bra försvar och taktiken har i princip alltid (i modern tid) varit en form av gerillakrigföring som försvar, med endast små spjutspets förband som kunde göra offensiv skada. Det skulle kosta för mycket att anfalla oss helt enkelt :)

    If you think more than a second or two, could you answer this question: Who would attack us?
    Russia? Nah, we already have Finland as a meatgrinder. Al-Qaida? Nah, even the worlds largest army can’t do anything against terrorist warfare.

    Instead of putting money on a worthless army, why don’t do anything serious with the money instead? School for an example or infrastructure.

    Of course Sweden would get raped if they have guys or girls like you (pacifist).
    You wouldn’t put up a fight.

    Sweden could hold out pretty darn well if they wanted to.
    Just one little Gotlands class submarine sank the biggest Aircraft carrier in US service the USS Reagan in training.
    They couldn’t even find the Sub.
    So that alone would put a damper on an aggressor.

    Sweden needs the defense to hold out until rest of EU/Nato would join in.

    Sweden doesn’t need money, the country hasn’t been in a war for over two centuries. And even if we would get attacked, we would get raped no matter how large our army is.

    Why waste money on something that doesn’t matters?

    For people that wonder why Sweden has so few soldiers.
    Well that is simple really, it is called 100.000 immigrants a year = costs too much and it has to come from somewhere.

    I am not saying this to be an but Sweden is not a large country that can handle that many immigrants per year.
    Sweden had less Immigrants a year in the 80′s hence a larger army cause of more surplus money.
    Countries always save on military esp if they are a country not in war for hundreds of years.
