What is the difference between a batallion and a platoon?

Posted on September 30th, 2009 by admin in the batallion | 7 Comments »

What is the difference between a batallion, a battery and a platoon?

The number of troops in each.

A platoon is very small, about a dozen.

Battalions are made up of many platoons.

Buying a wii game? need help!?

Posted on September 28th, 2009 by admin in the batallion | 11 Comments »

I am getting a wii game in a few hours what is the best game to get. I have mario kart, galaxy, and batallion wars 2 already.

Well it matters when you got your Wii….

Why it matters is a very common matter. Alot of people bought Smash bros. Brawl, but it ain’t workin! Reason why is because your wii was bought to early that it ain’t have the ability to read double layered disks! So if you go your Wii when they first came out you might want to try getting Smash Bros. Brawl, but if it ain’t workin, don’t even bother returning your wii to nintendo just get a different game like The Legendo of Zelda: Twilight Princess. That is what i recommend, getting LoZ: Twilight Princess.

I am looking for info on my fathers WW II military history.?

I tried the NPRC, but his records were destroyed in the St.Louis fire of 1973.I have his Report of Separation, but would like to have more.He was in the 132nd Inf. Regt.Americal Div. 1944-1945 in the Philippines. He was at Ft. Meade Md. I also have a photograph of his Batallion. It was the 6th Batallion Battery D Camp Stewart Ga.dated 1944.He had alot of the guys sign the back of it and write where they were from.I would like to know where I could get more information on him,his unit and what battles they may have been in.I would also like to know where I could find any photos of him or his Batallion. He was from Honesdale Pennsylvania.I tried to look up 132nd Inf Regt Americal Div but had no luck.Thank you for any help you could offer

Try this: www.archives.gov/stlouis/militar

Also, each base has a "historian" and each unit appoints one officer to be the unit historian. Unit histories are done on an annual basis and submitted to the base historian…call and ask where the histories are achived.

Question Regarding military pay?

Posted on September 24th, 2009 by admin in the batallion | 8 Comments »

Alright well my husband leave tomorrow for BCT in GA.
While he is at, the reception batallion is that still part of the pay week??
And will he get paid in 2 weeks??
Thanks,

Don’t count on getting paid right away. It took them 8 weeks to get my husbands direct deposit set up. Of course the next paycheck was huge because they got us all that back pay. Make sure you have a plan just in case he doesn’t get paid right away. He will start getting paid as soon as he is there, but when he gets paid will just depend on how fast they get his information processed.

Ok so we wanted BinLaden and Saddam dead. Why the whole military? Why not 2 teams of snipers or navy seals?

Posted on September 18th, 2009 by admin in the batallion | 5 Comments »

Surely a team of snipers/trackers would have better luck assassinating someone that a whole military batallion that kicks up dust pillars wherever they move? Even if they died after the killing of their target, it would be 10 dead rather than 3000+ right?

The neoconservative plan for the New American Century required the use of the military to achieve its objective of making the middle east safe for Israel. Here is an eye opening letter from this group to the President, dated 9 days after the terror attacks of 9/11. It states that even if Saddam is not connected to the attacks, the US should use its military to depose him. Cheney, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, Feith, Libby and other administration insiders were all charter members of PNAC and Bush listened so well that the letter of 9-20-2001 actually became the administration’s foreign policy.

Video of gameplay from Wii title Battalion Wars 2 from Kuju Entertainment. Rehosted from GameTrailers.com.

“Whether players are hoofing it across the plains as a lone infantryman or commanding an entire platoon from atop an armoured tank, the challenge is real and the mission is critical. There has never been a real-time action/strategy title like this before.”

Should the U.S. military replace the Humvees in Iraq with Volvo 240 wagons?

Posted on September 14th, 2009 by admin in the batallion | 9 Comments »

I beleive they should. An IED would have no effect on a Volvo 240 and the wagon has optional third row seats for two more soldiers, or plenty of cargo room for weapons and cargo.

I believe the insurgents would lay down their weapons and tremble at the fearsome sight of a batallion of Volvo 240 wagons descending on their positions. Come on, lets win this thing people.

I believe the VW Beetle would instill more fear.
