In reading the articles, I believe that each represents a different perspective on the issue of social class as it relates not only to education but also to everyday life. In the Hochschild article a clear relationship is made between the level of education one receives and the lifestyle one lives. As an example, she acknowledges that the level of education received, determines job choice, income level, potential spouses and your political beliefs. Hochschild relates class more to availability of proper educational resources than to lifestyle implications. She draws a clear picture of the inept quality of schools in lower class impoverished neighborhoods versus those in more affluent neighborhoods.
