They’re nothing …
They’re nothing like Mobile Suits(essentially Gundams) at all. Mobile suits were designed as giant space suits (hence the name) and are high mobility and deployed in lesser numbers. Vertical “Tanks” are just that, gigantic heavy armor designed to overwhelm enemy positions with massive firepower as part of a combined arms strategy.
Their design certainly evolved from an alternate universe Gundam story with (From the Barrel I believe), the designs themselves are a vast departure from Gundam

well, why is rockband so different? you take the guitar, drum set and mic, they are all probobly more expensive combined to produce than the controller and were sold for fifty or so dollars less. So if they plan it right, design it right and give it lots of marketing they could likely do alright with it.
