Band of 5th Battalion Eskilon Dragoon Guards – Regimental March
Part 1.
This is the first part of 3. uploads from my recording from BFBS Radio “In Step” programme Germany with Uncle Bill Mitchell doing the commentary sounding very British and BBC!
The transmission went out on Saturday Lunchtimes and featured different bands each week.
Dad was a friend of Peter Parsons Band Master and I had many lessons from Roy Warne – Trumpet – who features on the next video with “High on a Hill”
My father served with the Queens Own Buffs ( now Princess of Wales) and was attached to the 2nd Royal Anglican Regiment in 1970.
Anyone known to be in the bands let me know as I have found memories as a school boy of the the time in Munster Germany at School there.
I used to play in the school orchestra Trumpet.
The recoding was done on a Philips single speed mono machine from a FM signal. The Tape recorder was sold recently fully working on ebay as I now have the one in hte Video.
