I am looking for info on my fathers WW II military history.?

I tried the NPRC, but his records were destroyed in the St.Louis fire of 1973.I have his Report of Separation, but would like to have more.He was in the 132nd Inf. Regt.Americal Div. 1944-1945 in the Philippines. He was at Ft. Meade Md. I also have a photograph of his Batallion. It was the 6th Batallion Battery D Camp Stewart Ga.dated 1944.He had alot of the guys sign the back of it and write where they were from.I would like to know where I could get more information on him,his unit and what battles they may have been in.I would also like to know where I could find any photos of him or his Batallion. He was from Honesdale Pennsylvania.I tried to look up 132nd Inf Regt Americal Div but had no luck.Thank you for any help you could offer

Try this: www.archives.gov/stlouis/militar

Also, each base has a "historian" and each unit appoints one officer to be the unit historian. Unit histories are done on an annual basis and submitted to the base historian…call and ask where the histories are achived.
