US Marines “Mojave Viper” Combat Training

Marines turn up the volume when it comes to training for deployment. The exercise, known as Mojave Viper, consists of conventional combined-arms training and stability and support operations training. Mojave Viper covers a multitude of aspects in preparing a Marine battalion for war. Early on, the Marines and Sailors receive classes including desert survival, high-risk capture procedures, and how to identify and avoid improvised explosive devices. The battalion experiences an onslaught of realistic training, such as live-fire movement/maneuver at the reinforced platoon and company sized level. Finally, the battalion will be involved in combat scenarios in an artificial desert town housing over 300 role players. The battalion will get the benefit of training in an urban environment against an opposing force whose methods are based on current enemy tactics, techniques and procedures. Mojave Viper will ist a Marine battalion in bringing well-trained Marines and Sailors to the fight.

well you have to be the stupidest person i know but your words sound really bold. i was a former 0311 OIF III Veteran in 07-08, i carried the M249 SAW myself and let me tell ya eventhough i had my ups and downs with the USMC i’ve done my best to make it back home with that heavy son of a lol. My advice is do your MCI’s, Beware Range 400 & 410 in 29 stumps(you’ll know), drink orange juice & do your best with a vertical stomp.

the US Army and the …
the US Army and the US Marine Corps are two completely different things. A cat and a dog are two different things. “marines didnt do all the most great things in the histroy”. Please, study some more history before you accidentally offend somebody. Ever heard of Iwo Jima? Ever seen that famous picture of the Marines holding up that American flag on Mount Suribachi? Look up Inchon, Chosin Reservoir, Belleau Wood, Hue, and almost every battle against Japan during WW2!

    you know what, …
you know what, Marines are after the us army. In ww2 the army came in first and got there es shone in there face, and did the progressing. the marines came along and did the mission, army is just a distraction in my eyes, but not really.
